National Native American Heritage Month Profile

Dakota Plains Legal Services ("DPLS") would like to celebrate the work of our former Executive Director and current Board member, Terry Pechota.
Mr. Pechota led DPLS during the 1970s and was an active litigator in which he took on cases at all levels: Tribal Court, State Court, and the Federal District Court. He also litigated cases up to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Dakota Plains Legal Services, Inc. (“DPLS”) is requesting proposals from CPA firms that have experience in providing audit and tax services for nonprofit corporations. We invite qualified accounting firms or accountants to submit a proposal to us by November 12, 2025, for consideration.

On Monday, October 13, some of our Sioux Falls staff and their families participated in the Native American Day Parade – and brought the Justice Bus along for the celebration! It was a wonderful opportunity to honor the day and connect with our community!
